Switchyard Park - City of Bloomington, IN Switchyard Park is a 65-acre park located on the south side of Bloomington, Ind. Admission is free. until 8 p.m. Rental spaces are available at Switchyard Park.

The park includes basketball, pickleball and bocce ball courts, a skate park, dog park, picnic shelter, playground and spray pad (open seasonally). The Community Foundation Switchyard Plaza spray pad is open from Memorial Day through Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. Operating hours are subject to change based on weather conditions. For updates, call the Aquatics Hotline at 812-349-3741. Spray pad restrooms are open seasonally, during daytime hours only, April through October. Outdoor rental spaces include a picnic shelter, lawn space and performance stage. Indoor space includes the 11,000 square foot Pavilion. For rental information, call 812-349-3961. The Switchyard Park dog park includes fenced areas for large and small dogs, with a total of 4.7 acres of dog park space. The skate park, designed and constructed by Hunger Skateparks, is for skateboards and inline skaters only. BMX bikes with plastic pegs are also permitted. The skate park is open daily from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m. Camping in, and overnight use of, Switchyard Park is not permitted. Parking for 400+ vehicles is available at three different parking lots: at Rogers Street, Grimes Lane, and Walnut Street. Electric vehicle charging stations are located in the Rogers Street lot (2 hour time limit for all charging stations).

The Bloomington Trivia Championship Series hosted by Skip Daley is back at Switchyard Park this Friday.

Trivia starts at 7 p.m.

$32 per team
Teams of six or fewer

Prizes are awarded to the top teams, and the winning team earns a spot in the championship round later this year. The Cabin Restaurant and Lounge will also be on site with food, soda, beer and wine available for purchase.

Both concerts are free and part of Bloomington Parks and Recreation’s Performing Arts Series.

Start the weekend with surf-inspired sounds Friday night, then come back Sunday for a full symphony performance in the park.
