Arts in the Parks 2026 (blm.mn/artsparks) begins with the annual Kites & Bites Festival Saturday, June 6, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Valley View Middle School playfield, E. 90th St. and Portland Ave. South. Enjoy free kites, a professional kite flying demonstration, food trucks and live music by the Jolly Pops. πŸͺ

Then things really get rolling with the first week of live entertainment featuring hilarious comedy magic, energetic music from an all-female choir, and an electrifying performance by a former finalist on NBC's "The Voice."

Learn about the kitchen, flapjack, dillball, lemon drop and more during Pickleball Beginner Bootcamps! Sessions take place on select dates in June, July and August at Dred Scott Pickleball Courts, 10820 Bloomington Ferry Road, and are taught by champion pickleball player/coach Rachael Kroog.

πŸͺ Kites & Bites Festival, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Valley View Middle School Playfield, E. 90th St. and Portland Ave. S., is the traditional start of the summer Arts in the Parks series. Art rocks! And when it comes to the free Nature Craft-Rock Painting naturalist event Sunday, May 31, 1:30 p.m. at Smith Park, 8155 Park Ave. S., we mean that literally. 🀘

Drop in to enjoy this creative, hands-on craft led by an experienced naturalist. Design unique patterns, themes, color combinations or whatever comes to mind. Use your artwork as beautiful decorations around your home or elsewhere.
