The Village President & Board of Trustees govern the Village

Once a small town community, Bloomingdale experienced a surge in growth beginning in 1975. Bloomingdale residents enjoy big city benefits in a small town atmosphere. Bloomingdale is a full service community, with 1st class schools, abundant recreation opportunities, situated amid plenty of open spaces, while boasting a wide and varied retail and commercial / industrial base. Commercial, office and

retail developments have been carefully integrated into the community to preserve Bloomingdale's comfortable ambiance and exceptional quality of life.

Today, the community gathered at St. Paul/Evergreen Cemetery for Bloomingdale’s annual Memorial Day Remembrance, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
The ceremony included the Presentation of the Colors by Bloomingdale VFW Post 7539, remarks from Mayor Franco, a commemoration by VFW Commander Cliff Hall, prayer, a gun salute, Taps, and the placing of flowers on veterans’ gravesites.
Thank you to the Bloomingdale Historical Society, Bloomingdale VFW Post 7539, participating organizations, volunteers, and all who attended.
Today and always, we remember and honor those who gave their lives for our freedom.

UPDATE: The banner location map is now complete and has been added to this post to help residents locate specific banners and plan a self-guided tour of the display.

The Village of Bloomingdale is proud to once again honor the brave men and women who have served our country through the annual Hometown Heroes/Veteran Banner Recognition Program.
Banners featuring our local Hometown Heroes are now on display along Lake Street, from Glen Ellyn Road heading east to Maple Avenue, and throughout Old Town, where the program was expanded this year to recognize even more local heroes.

We invite the community to take a drive or walk through the area and view these banners as a small but meaningful tribute to the service and sacrifice of our veterans. The banners will remain on display through the Fourth of July and will also serve as a fitting backdrop for the Village’s Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, May 25 at 9:30 AM at St. Paul Cemetery.

Cop on a Rooftop Success!
What a great day! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported this year’s Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser this morning. The Bloomingdale IL. Police Department again partnered with Dunkin’ to benefit Special Olympics Illinois and the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Despite having just one participating location this year, the event was another tremendous success, raising $6,346.32 for this important cause!
Special thanks to our dedicated officers, staff, volunteers, and interns Mia and Lauren, and especially Officer Phil Jaffe, who organized and led BPD’s fundraising efforts.
If you missed the event and are interested in donating to Special Olympics, please contact Officer Phil Jaffe or Sue Osicek at (630) 529-9868.
100% of the donations go toward supporting Special Olympics athletes throughout Illinois!
