Bloomingdale Police Department Secures Federal Funding to Enhance Public Safety
Bloomingdale, NJ — The Bloomingdale Police Department is proud to announce that $150,000 in federal funding has been secured to strengthen the Department’s emergency response capabilities, specialized equipment, and officer training.
The funding will provide $100,000 for the purchase of a response drone and specialized active threat equipment, including ballistic shields, protective armor, and breaching kits. These resources will provide Bloomingdale officers with enhanced capabilities when responding to critical incidents, active threats, and other high risk emergencies.
An additional $50,000 will be dedicated to specialized training for Bloomingdale Police officers in counterterrorism and active shooter response. This advanced training will enhance officers’ preparedness, decision making, and ability to respond effectively during critical incidents where seconds can make the difference between life and death.
Chief Daniel Greenwood would like to extend his deepest gratitude to U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer for his continued support of law enforcement and his willingness to invest in the safety and security of the Bloomingdale community.
