The Bloomfield Police Department Administration Offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

As always, police services will continue to operate 24 hours a day. For emergencies, please dial 911.

Officers recently responded to a call involving a seriously injured baby boy. Thanks to excellent medical care, countless prayers, and his incredible strength, this precious little guy has made an amazing recovery in just a few short weeks and continues to grow stronger every day.

We were honored to officially meet this little Superman and are so grateful that he stopped by to visit. Keep shining, little buddy!

After serving 22 years in law enforcement, with 19 years dedicated to the Bloomfield Police Department, Andy leaves behind a remarkable legacy of service, commitment, and professionalism.

Through every challenge, every call for service, and every opportunity to help others, Officer Darby has represented the very best of our profession. His dedication to this community and his fellow officers has earned the respect and appreciation of all who have had the privilege of working alongside him.

Andy, thank you for everything you have done for the Bloomfield Police Department and the City of Bloomfield. We wish you and your family all the best. May the road ahead be filled with happiness, relaxation, and new adventures!

Congratulations to Deputy Chief Randon Matthews of the Bloomfield Police Department!

Deputy Chief Matthews has been recognized with the prestigious Phillip Collum Award in the USD Master of Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership (LEPSL) Online Program for the Summer 2026 Data Fluency and Analysis for Law Enforcement Leaders course.

This award honors students who exemplify leadership through service, mentorship, and support of their peers.

Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!

STOP when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended. If you're approaching from behind or from the opposite direction on the same roadway, you must stop at least 10 feet from the bus and remain stopped until the lights are off and the bus moves again.

The exception is when the bus is on a separate roadway divided by a physical median or barrier, where traffic on the opposite side is not required to stop.

Children can be unpredictable and may cross the road unexpectedly. A few extra seconds of patience can save a life.

Let's make this school year a safe one for every student, bus driver, and family in our community. Please slow down, stay alert, and stop when the bus stops.
