The Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation was created in the memory of Lori Haber Buckfire, who passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of 41.

Lori was passionate about children and helping others fighting the battle against cancer.

Last Friday, we wrapped up another wonderful week of Planet Lori Art at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center with a special exhibition showcasing our campers’ incredible artwork.

Throughout the week, our campers expressed their creativity, imagination, and spirit through art—and the exhibition was a beautiful celebration of everything they created.

Planet Lori Art Camp was created in memory of Lori Haber Buckfire, whose love of children and passion for art continue to inspire this special week each year.

The Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation is incredibly proud of our young artists and grateful to everyone who helps us continue Lori’s legacy through Planet Lori Art Camp.

🎨 That’s a Wrap on Planet Lori Art Camp! ❤️

Today marked the final day of another wonderful week at the Planet Lori Art Camp!

Our campers spent the week creating, laughing, making friends, and expressing themselves through art. Here are some of our favorite moments from an incredible week.

Thank you to the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, their instructors and counselors, our campers, and their families for making Planet Lori so special each year.

The Planet Lori Art Camp has been running this week at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center. There has been a lot of smiles, laughter, and creativity. We’re so happy to share these joyful moments of our campers making memories and having fun together!

The Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation is still accepting applications to the 12th Annual Planet Lori Art Camp at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center.

The camp is designed for children who have or had a parent or close relative with cancer. It will be held on a daily basis from August 10-August 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The foundation is providing full paid scholarships to children (ages 5-15) to attend the camp.

The Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications to the Planet Lori Art Camp at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center.

The camp is designed for children who have or had a parent or close relative with cancer. It will be held on a daily basis from August 10-August 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The foundation is providing full paid scholarships to children (ages 5-15) to attend the camp. There is limited space in the camp, so it is recommended that completed applications be submitted as soon as possible. Applications can be downloaded from our website at www.planetlori.com.

Last Friday, we concluded the 11th Annual Planet Lori Art Camp at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center with a beautiful Exhibition of the campers’ artwork.

Each piece reflected the creativity, resilience, and spirit of the children who took part in this special week. The camp was created in memory of Lori Haber Buckfire, whose love of children and passion for art continues to inspire us all.

Today kicks off the first day of Planet Lori Art Camp at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center!

Running daily through Friday, August 15, this special camp is designed for children ages 5–15 who have a parent or close relative who has battled or is battling cancer.

Thanks to the Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation,
every camper attends on a full scholarship—giving them the chance to create, connect, and heal through art. We’ll be sharing photos from this year’s camp soon, but in the meantime, here’s a look back at some wonderful moments from past years.

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the passing of Lori Haber Buckfire — a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and an extraordinary soul whose passion for helping others continues to inspire.

In her memory, the Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation created the Planet Lori Art Camp, a program that reflects her love of children, art, and supporting families affected by cancer.

To those who knew and loved Lori — and to those who’ve come to know her through the foundation — thank you for helping us keep her spirit alive in such meaningful ways.

May her memory always be a blessing.
