The Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce that our grant applications from NYS DEC as well as the federal wild-land have been approved. This has allowed us to purchase a military surplus attack helicopter, retrofitted for wildland firefighting.

This addition to the fleet will allow us to combat the growing number of fires on Clausland Mountain, as well as other outside fires.

While we work on training for this new apparatus, we ask that anyone in the Blauvelt Fire District with a pool be open to letting us practice water scoops/drops.

Adding Marine Fires to our resumé after today.

Today at approximately 1157am the Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a reported boat fire. Upon arrival, members found a fire confined to the engine compartment and quickly extinguished it.

Remember that as you get ready for boating season, do not leave your boat unattended if using a trickle charger or other form to charge up the batteries.
