On an occasions this week The Family Dollar has had several items shoplifted from the store. We are once again playing a game of “Name that Perp!”
This male subject came in one evening and walked out without paying for items.

The San Juan Homecoming Parade will be Friday October 3, 2025 at 12:00 pm. This is the parade route, please be cautious of this area as we will have students participating in the parade and spectators along the roads. Come out and support SJH!

SCAM NOTICE!
Please be vigilant with your information. One of our officers received this text today and want to make you all aware of it and give you some helpful tips.

Clue #1 it’s a scam:
In my entire life I’ve never seen the State of Utah sending out Text messages telling me I have a refund and need to file paperwork thru a text to get that refund. I usually know I’m getting a refund or not when I file my taxes each year.

Clue #2
The phone number it’s from starts with +63. Any phone number that starts with a “+” is from another country. If you do a quick Google search this number is the code for a phone originating from the Philippines. Not Utah

Clue #3
The website address is not a .GOV address. They’ve made as close an attempt as they legitimately can get to it by out “gov” in there, but it is a “.cc” address at the end. A .cc domain is a country-code top-level domain originally assigned to the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, an Australian territory. This info was from another quick Google search.

Clue #5
If you read the entirety of the message word for word, the grammar is not quite all there indicating the writer is not completely fluent in English - although this one isn’t as bad as others we’ve seen.

Clue #6
There is always some urgency to the message. You have to click now or you miss out.

Clue #7
If you go further with them than just reading this and you get into payment options for these, they will ask you to pay for something and will request that payment to be by some sort of gift card.

Be safe out there with your information, and if anyone wants to check the link in the text and tell me what the website actually looks like I’d be curious, but I’m not going to click on it.

Sgt. Hillhouse and several of our city fire fighters (Corey, Dustin, Nathan, Sydney) took to the stands at the football field to complete a 9/11 stair climb tribute to those first responders who lost their lives running into the towers 24 years ago to rescue those in need.

Two police officers are dead after a man opened fire on them late last night in Tremonton. Updated on KSLTV and the KSL+ App.

8/10/25 @840 hrs units were dispatched to a vehicle on fire at about 740 S Main here in Blanding. Driver stated he had just left his hotel and the vehicle started smoking when he immediately pulled over. Bystanders attempted to put the flames out with fire extinguishers, but it spread to rapidly and was fully engulfed by the time fire arrived on scene. Currently the Cause is unknown. Traffic was diverted around the block while Blanding Fire extinguished the flames.
No one sustained any injuries.

**UPDATE**
On 8/10/25 The subject has been identified and taken into custody. Charges have been filed.

We are looking for the identification of this individual who has been out around town rummaging through cars and garages.
