The Blandford Water Department is asking all residents on town water to restrict water usage until further notice due to a current water shortage.

The water department is aware of the low pressure and on and off service on Chester Road. They are working to resolve the issue.

The Blanford water department is currently repairing a leak on Herrick Road. The water will be shut off briefly for those residents affected.

There is a water break on Russell Stage Road, water will be turned off on that road for a short period this afternoon.

The Water Department Secretary will be out of the office Wednesday, April 19th. If you need to pay a water bill please leave it in the grey mailbox at town hall or the Water Dept. mailbox in the copy room. If you need a date stamp or a receipt attach a note and I will get that to you.

The water department will be repairing a water break on North Street this Friday. Residents on North street from the pump house to the White Church should expect that their water service will be disrupted throughout the day.

Gore Road will be closed for through traffic today while the water department works on repairing a water leak.

Tomorrow the water department will be repairing a leak on Gore Road. As a result the water on North Street and Chester Road will be turned off from roughly 10 AM to 12 PM.

The Water Department is requesting that residents please conserve water as we are currently in a drought.

RECOMMENDATIONS from DEP for regions in a drought watch:
Regions in Drought Watch: Moderate drought conditions
 Outdoor watering should be limited to “handheld” with a hose or a watering can after 5 p.m.
or before 9 a.m. (to avoid evaporative losses).
 Restrict outdoor watering with irrigation systems and sprinklers.
 Watering of municipal parks and recreation fields with irrigation systems and sprinklers may
continue, at the water supplier’s discretion, before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
 Filling swimming pools, washing cars and washing buildings should be prohibited.
