As summer arrives, residents may notice more door-to-door sales representatives throughout the community.

The City of Blanchard issues physical solicitor permits to all authorized door-to-door sales representatives operating within city limits after completion of a background check.

Residents are encouraged to ask solicitors to present their City-issued permit at the time of contact. Any individual conducting door-to-door sales who cannot present a valid permit is not authorized to solicit within the City of Blanchard.

If you encounter an unpermitted solicitor, you may contact the City of Blanchard Police Department's non-emergency line (405-485-9391) to report the activity.

Thank you for helping keep Blanchard safe and informed. Remember to stay cool, stay hydrated, and have fun this season!

As the growing season approaches, City of Blanchard Code Enforcement reminds residents to stay current on lawn maintenance, including mowing, weeding, tree trimming, and general property cleanup. Residents are also encouraged to maintain adjacent alleyways as part of regular property upkeep.

The City also encourages planting native species to support Blanchard’s unique local ecosystem and dedicated pollinators. We appreciate your help in keeping our community beautiful!

Employee Spotlight

The City of Blanchard is made up of employees who work every day to support the community and keep city services running. Through our Employee Spotlight series, we want to introduce some of the people behind that work and share a little about what they do.

Meet Toby Lawson. Toby has been with the City of Blanchard Parks and Recreation Department for five years and is currently the Mowing Supervisor and Farmers Market Coordinator.

Toby says he enjoys working for the people of Blanchard and has gained a greater appreciation for everything happening behind the scenes to improve the community. One thing he has learned while working for the city is to always do his best for the citizens because his work is always in the public eye.

Toby is married to his wife Carol, and together they enjoy raising their dogs and chickens. In his free time, Toby enjoys gardening, playing PC games, and watching favorites like The Walking Dead, Total Recall, and The Fifth Element.

Toby was the most recent recipient of the Blanchard Citizen of the Year award, presented by the Blanchard Chamber of Commerce. When asked about receiving the award, Toby said, “I just love giving back to the community I live in.”

We’re grateful to have Toby serving the City of Blanchard and are excited to introduce him to the community through our Employee Spotlight series.

Stay tuned for our next Employee Spotlight!
