Guidelines for Engaging with ECSS Social Media

We will update social media pages as often as possible to share news about Early County School System (ECSS) and the achievements of the students and staff as well as other relevant information for ECSS. In times of inclement weather that necessitate school closing or other school-related emergencies, the pages will be updated in conjunction with the

alerting of local media. ECSS welcomes a person’s right to express his or her opinion and encourages commenters to keep comments relevant to the topic in question. All comments posted on ECSS social media pages are at the discretion of the page administrators. The page administrators will review postings to make sure they do not violate these guidelines and privacy laws. People making comments on the pages are requested to show respect for their fellow users by ensuring the discussion remains civil, especially since social media platforms allow individuals 13 years of age and older to join. Comments are also subject to the platform's Terms of Use. Remember that your name and photo will be seen next to your comment, visible to anyone who visits the page. ECSS reserves the right to remove from public view the following types of content, including comments posted on our pages and and posts in which ECSS or one of our schools is tagged. If a comment or post is removed, ECSS will retain a copy in its files.

- Sexual comments about or directed to anyone.
- Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, genetics, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or intellectual disability, or sexual orientation.
- Spam or unrelated links to other sites.
- Content that is unrelated to the ECSS topic that is the subject of the post. If you have a question to ask on a different topic, please contact us via email. It is always best to start with the person most involved with your topic (classroom teacher, building principal, etc.).
- Content that advocates illegal activity, encourages violence, or contains threats.
- Content that promotes particular non-ECSS services or products.
- Content that infringes on copyrights or trademarks.
- Content that discloses personally identifiable information that may compromise an individual’s financial or personal security, including social security numbers, passwords, credit card information, and personal contact information.
- Content that contains information that may compromise the safety, security, or proceedings of public systems (and their employees) or any criminal or civil investigations.
- Content that mocks, criticizes, denigrates, impugns, degrades, or in any way disparages any ECSS student or employee. ECSS may block or ban any account, as permitted by the social media platform, if that account comments or posts inappropriate content. Such accounts may also be denied access to participate in the limited public forum provided by ECSS social media pages. All statements and viewpoints expressed in comments or in posts that tag ECSS are solely those of the individual commenter or author and do not represent the official views or positions of Early County School System (ECSS), unless explicitly posted by an authorized ECSS representative or a designated subject matter expert responding on behalf of the district. All ECSS social media sites will adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances, including, but not limited to, legal requirements governing use of copyrighted materials, retention of records, compliance with the Georgia Open Records Act, and federal and state privacy laws. 🎶🐾 Summer break is in full swing, but these Bobcats are still putting in the work!

Several of our band student leaders spent this past week at Spirit Leadership Camp at Jacksonville State University, where they are sharpened their conducting and leadership skills through classes, masterclasses, and seminars.

At the same time, Band Director Mr. Dillon King is participating in the Director’s Pathway, learning new strategies for recruiting, growing programs, developing student leaders, and taking the Early County Band of Blue to the next level.

These Bobcats know that success doesn’t happen by accident! We are proud of these students and Mr. King for choosing to invest their summer in becoming better musicians and even better representatives of Early County. 💙🐾
