Avery & Dalton for Blairstown 2015

Avery & Dalton for Blairstown 2015 Blairstown needs to elect the hardest-working, most caring people to run things. Paul Avery and Cynthia Dalton are the best qualified for this office.

Get to know the candidates and why they do what they do. Paul Avery is already on the Blairstown Township Committee and seeking re-election. Cynthia Dalton has great experience and cares deeply about our town and will serve with distinction.

As of the Township Committee meeting of Wednesday, February 14th, both Paul Avery and Cynthia Dalton have confirmed that they would decline another run and be stepping down from office at the end of their term, Dec 31st, 2018. Retirement from public office is not an easy decision, because there is always more to be done.

While they each will have a legacy of hard work and numerous accomplishments, "the show must go on." Who will pick up their baton and work for the people of Blairstown? The time to speak up is now, if you wish to run in the June primary. The servant leader example has been well set for you - but are you willing to do the work? Interested candidates may pick up a petition from the Municipal Clerk's office.

Thank you Paul and Cynthia for your service, and may the remainder of this year be fulfilling to you as you continue to serve Blairstown.

"What's a duck race?"

It is a fun community event to raise money for charity where people sponsor a duck (a rubber ducky, no feathers involved) which floats down a stream, much to the delight of the cheering onlookers, rooting for their favorite. There is a winner in the end, who crosses the finish line, granting it's sponsor the prize money.

The Blairstown Rotary is sponsoring a duck race at Blairstown Fourth at 3:30. If you're interested, you can stop over to Ace Hardware and "see a man about a duck." Ten bucks and you're kid will think you're the best.
