THANK YOU for voting YES to keep our Park and Rec in Blaine and Birch Bay!

THANK YOU to our support committee, headed by Carrie Crump and Diane Major, and a strong and motivated group of volunteers who have showed up to all the local events since November, given presentations, put up signs and flyers everywhere, written Letters to the Editor or encouraged others to do so, created content for social media and shared our posts,

THANK YOU to all who donated funds to pay for signs and materials,

THANK YOU to all the individuals, local businesses and organizations who have let us put up signs and banners in their yards, on their buildings or changed their signs to support BBBPRD2,

THANK YOU to the staff and instructors and Board of Directors of BBBPRD2 for making it easy for us to boast about the benefits of our Park and Rec,

THANK YOU to our sign wavers who have reminded everyone to vote all over Blaine and Birch Bay,

We are probably forgetting someone but we are still reeling from all the excitement of earning almost 69% of your votes!

✨✨ THANK YOU!!! ✨✨

The Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2 is overwhelmed with gratitude as we extend a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible individuals who have supported us throughout this campaign to renew our levy. Your unwavering dedication and support have made a significant impact on our community, and we are truly grateful.
From writing Letters to the Editor, to running committees, doing presentations, and even waving signs, your actions have not gone unnoticed. Each and every effort has contributed to making BBBPRD2 a stronger and more vibrant community.

It is because of your unwavering support that our levy has been approved, securing our funding for the next six years. With this approval, we can continue to provide activities and programs that benefit everyone in our community. We are grateful for the trust and confidence placed in us, and we are committed to using this funding responsibly and effectively. Another wonderful Letter to the Editor published in The Northern Light a couple of weeks ago. This time, Diane Major, co-chair of the BBBPRD2 PAC (support committee for this levy), explained the impact Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2 has had on her personally.
We are all grateful for Diane Major and Carrie Crump, who have co-chaired this support committee and led a great team of volunteers for the past few months. Please vote YES and turn in your ballot before 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Letter:

“In 2020, I incurred a physical and traumatic injury to my left shoulder. After surgery, my shoulder took two years to heal. After one year of physical therapy, I needed to find an additional way to strengthen my shoulder.

Fast forward two years, after trying several other gyms, I was chatting with a close friend, and she mentioned the Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2 fitness classes. I decided to try several of their classes and Zumba was the class for me.Fast forward to present day, my shoulder is strong, I have less pain and agony, more mobility, and I have met such wonderful and amazing people in my community. This is only one story of so many that have benefited from the many classes, events and offerings from Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2.

As the current co-chair of the upcoming levy renewal for the BBBPRD2 PAC, this has become a personal journey and I have an obligation to share and keep this wonderful organization’s doors open and thriving. The Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2 levy renewal that is on the ballot is the only source of funding for our local district and now is the time to take action and vote “yes.”Thanks for your consideration and support.”

OUR PARK AND REC HELPS OUR KIDS PLAY SPORTS.
As we all sit and watch the Super Bowl, now seems like a good time to remind everyone that the Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2 has scholarships for kids who want to play sports! If granted, these scholarships will pay for anything from registration fees to any sports or cultural program, but will also help for those ballet slippers or football cleats.
That is on top of the Park and Rec’s commitment to support youth organizations such as Blaine Youth Sports in our area.
Remember to vote so all our kids have a chance to participate in sports! 🏀 🏈 ⚽️ 🩰
