***2 ALARM FIRE***
On 2/27 at 12:57 hours Truck 9 was dispatched as one of three additional Ladder Trucks to the 2700 block of Whitney Place in District Heights. (Box 26-08). Initial arriving units reported fire on the second floor of a 2 story stand alone storage facility. After a 20 minute response time, Truck 9 with 5 volunteers arrived and took positioning on the bravo side of the structure. The assignment was quickly scaled to a second alarm bringing over 100 personnel to the scene. With access issues inside as well as solar panels covering the roof system, the fire required personnel to remove the corrugated metal decking from the exterior of the structure to access the seat of the fire. Truck 9 operated for just under 8 hours before being placed in service.
