Col. Eric L. Quinn, Fort Pickett garrison commander, and other Maneuver Training Center Fort Pickett employees gather to celebrate Earth Day April 22, 2026, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Participants planted a variety of hybrid and bush cucumbers, jalapeño and bell peppers, tomatoes and wildflowers at the installation’s Victory Garden to support local pollinators and promote environmental stewardship. Organizers said this initiative reflects ecological health, which is vital for maintaining long-term mission readiness.

Congratulations to Joseph Bozo, who recently retired from the Fort Pickett Directorate of Public Works after 51 years of service as an engineer equipment operator. Prior to his career at Fort Pickett, he served in the active-duty Army. Upon his retirement, Bozo was presented with the Virginia Distinguished Service Medal, a coin from Col. Eric Quinn, the Fort Pickett garrison commander, a letter of appreciation from Maj. Gen. James W. Ring, the Adjutant General of Virginia, and a letter of thanks from the Governor of Virginia. Thank you for a half a century of service!
