Applications are now open for the Columbia Gas / VFCF 2026 Carbon Monoxide Alarm Distribution Program.

The program is a statewide life‑safety initiative supported by Columbia Gas of Virginia through the NiSource Charitable Foundation, aimed at distributing carbon monoxide (CO) alarms to fire departments across the Commonwealth. The program aligns with NiSource’s broader community‑safety grant making, which has included similar CO‑alarm initiatives in other regions.

Application period runs through September 30 with review of applications happening in early October and distribution of devices in mid to late October. November is Carbon Monoxide Awareness Month and all awarded devices are expected to be installed by November 30, if possible, but no later than December 31.

Exited to share the 2nd Annual Women of Fire & EMS Professional Development Conference! One of the driving women behind this effort, Laura Arrington, was one of our instructors for our Female Firefighter Camp this year.

Our Women of Rescue work in our Camp and Conference is all about women supporting women! We are excited to see the work of VFCA Women of Fire, and we will be in attendance at their conference in Virginia. Hope to see you there!
