I am always amazed by the reach of VTRS and the LMAA. While at a trauma confrance Stephanie Clark looked up the speaker was Collin Witmore, talking about the importance of collerbation. He also briefly spoke about his role in his response to April 16. This just shows your VTRS connections are for life and you never know when you will run into another life member or alumi.

As this year's EMS week comes to a close, I wanted to post this picture to remind us how far we have come, as a squad, as an alumi association, and EMS as a profession (weather you are a paid or volunteer professional). We should thank those who laid the groundwork for what we have become and remember it is our responsibility to mate it better for those will come next. Happy EMS to all!

The back of this picture said they used 100 feet of duct tape and if you want the whole story ask Christine... I think we all would like the whole story!

This suit was in the garage in the station until at least 2000 or later. I think noone wanted to get rid of it because we had an airport, so maybe we would get an ARFF truck some day. What is the story behind it? How did we get it and who finally got rid of it (or is it still in the garage)?

Team - Wanted to share an update about Jason Stender.

Back in October, he had a bad fall while hiking with his family in Puerto Rico while stationed with the FBI, which resulted in a C6-C7 injury, leaving him paralyzed.

After about six months in hospitals, he, his wife, and their two boys are now back in Chesterfield.

Stender was on the squad from around fall ’07 through about 2010. He also spearheaded the patch wall that’s still in the meeting room today.

After Tech, he went on to do a few things before joining the Marine Corps as a combat engineer. From there, he worked as a Henrico County police officer and later joined the FBI.

There is a GoFundMe set up to support him and his family.

No pressure — just passing it along.

Please consider supporting the Stender’s while they go through this unimaginab… Amber Smiley needs your support for Support for Jason after becoming paralyzed
