Thank you to everyone in our community who showed up and voted to pass Issue 25. Your support makes a real difference. Because of you, our township will soon have dedicated deputies, faster response times in our neighborhoods, and stronger, more consistent local law enforcement. We’re grateful for your trust and ready for the township and the county to get to work delivering on these commitments. It will take some time to get the cruiser and deputies in place, but we are one step closer to a safer Jefferson Township.

Most nights feel ‘safe enough’ – until a bullet crosses a child’s playroom or sirens don’t come as fast as we hoped.

Jefferson Township is growing. Traffic is heavier. Calls for service are up. Our community shouldn’t rely on ‘safe enough’ and shared coverage forever.

A bullet shouldn’t come this close to a child’s playroom.

In January, a stray bullet tore through a Jefferson Township home — right into a space where children play. Thankfully, no one was hurt. But it’s a chilling reminder: Jefferson Township doesn’t have dedicated police coverage.

Right now, we share just one Franklin County Sheriff’s unit with several neighboring communities. Response times can be long — and our deputies are often called elsewhere when we need them most.

Issue 25 on the May 5 ballot would change that. It creates dedicated 24/7 police protection for Jefferson Township — meaning deputies assigned exclusively to our community, focused on keeping our families safe.

We have and continue to grow...our police protection should too!

Jefferson Township's population has more than tripled since 1990 (3,983 → 14,475 residents - in 2020 census), but our sheriff coverage hasn't kept up.
