Your Blackfoot Fire Department responded to 3,395 calls for service in the year 2025. Among these calls were 30 structure fires, 2,640 EMS calls, 21 vehicle fires, and many other brush fires, false alarms, traffic accidents, and public services.
This represents nearly a 200 call increase from last year, indicating a fact we all know: Blackfoot is growing. With this growth comes increased calls for service, and an increased demand on facilities, apparatus, and personnel.
We want to thank all the citizens of Blackfoot and Bingham County that have supported and assisted us in our mission of assisting them this past year.
As 2026 begins, we remain as committed as always to excellence and readiness in our commitment to you, the citizen. We are proud to serve the citizens of Blackfoot and Bingham County!

Today is a day of remembrance for all of us at Local 4454. We lost Brother Kurt Aikele on this day in 2012 to service related cancer. He left a lasting impression on all of us who knew him and a large hole in our hearts when he passed. Kurt is memorialized on the IAFF Memorial Wall in Colorado Springs and the Idaho Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Boise. He served our community for 21 years.
Today we pay tribute to our fallen Brother and support his family who suffered such a tragic loss.

If there’s lights and sirens, it’s time to move out of the way. Today multiple agencies responded to a 6 week old baby having trouble breathing. Thankfully the baby is doing just fine now, but first responders did face some delays with cars stopped in the middle of the road. Remember if you see an emergency vehicle with lights flashing, pull over to the right so they can pass.

This week your Blackfoot Firefighters visited Groveland Elementary School to talk with kids about fire safety. Fire Marshall Jarvie taught the very important lesson of staying low, out of the smoke, and finding your way out in case of a fire! Here, Probationary Firefighter Anderson demonstrates firefighter protective equipment! Thank you for having us, Groveland!!
