Today I was able to attend the Youth Fishing Event at the Brockway Cranberry Marsh sponsored by the Wings over Wisconsin Black River Falls Chapter. The event was well attended and there were a lot of fish being caught. Beautiful day to go fishing. Wings over Wisconsin did a great job hosting this event.

Chief Deputy Gray and I attended the law-enforcement academy graduation ceremony today at the Western Technical College to celebrate the graduation of Sheriff’s Office Deputy Nolan Loiselle. Deputy Loiselle started working for the Sheriff’s Office as a corrections officer and now will be transitioning to the patrol division.

Please take time to congratulate Deputy Loiselle his successful completion of the law enforcement academy. We are proud and grateful that he will continue his career with Jackson County.

Yesterday, Chief Deputy Gray and I had the opportunity to spend time with the Melrose-Mindoro Elementary School at their last day school carnival.

It was a great event and a wonderful day. I would like to thank the Melrose-Mindoro staff for putting together an awesome event.

JOIN OUR TEAM - We are now hiring a Re-entry Navigator Position at the Jackson County Jail

Position Summary:
The Reentry Navigator provides comprehensive, person-centered reentry services for individuals incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail, to include individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD), other substance use disorders (SUD), co-occurring mental health needs, or overdose risk factors. The Navigator conducts pre-release assessments, develops individualized reentry plans, facilitates warm handoffs, and coordinates access to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). This role includes overdose prevention education, naloxone distribution, and collaboration with jail, medical, and community partners.

How to Apply:
Submit a resume and cover letter describing relevant experience with reentry work, substance use disorder treatment coordination, and overdose prevention. Applications accepted until the position is filled.

It is National EMS Appreciation Week.

The 52nd annual observance celebrates emergency medical personnel and the collaboration with other first responders. The emphasis this year is how EMS personnel collaborate across disciplines and work with 911 dispatchers, public health, fire and law enforcement to deliver life saving care.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office would like to recognize and thank the Emergency Medical Services for their dedication and commitment to their profession and community they serve.
