THIS WEEK AT SVCM (September 8-12, 2026) 🗓

After being closed for Labor Day, SVCM is back open today!

Our Crisis Ministry will have regular hours for the rest of the week. Please call or stop in by 2:30PM. We recommend calling ahead at (828) 669-9404. We’re here to help! 📲

NeighborCare will hold clinics TOMORROW, Wednesday, September 9, and this Saturday, September 12. If you need primary or urgent care, please call us! We’ll work you in for our soonest appointment. Spanish interpretation available. (828) 669-9404 ext 232. NeighborCare will also be offering free health screenings at the Bounty & Soul market in Swannanoa this Wednesday, 3-5pm. 🩺 🍎

Need dental care? We have great news for you! First Baptist Swannanoa is hosting a dental clinic THIS Friday and Saturday! 🦷 Appointments required. To register, go to the Events tab on their website.

Registration is OPEN for SVCM’s annual Walk for Your Neighbor & Block Party on Sunday, October 4! 👣 All proceeds go towards direct, loving assistance for neighbors in need. 🌻SEPTEMBER DONATION NEEDS🌻

Did you know that SVCM’s food pantry served about 66% more individuals this June as compared to last June? We need your support to help meet growing needs in our community! 📈

There are so many ways you can help SVCM care for our neighbors in need, including monetary donations, volunteering, and donations of goods. However you choose to support our ministry, we truly appreciate it! For those interested in donating goods, here’s what we need most this September:

CLOTHING CLOSET:

🔸Pull-ups
🔸Wipes
🔸Size 4 and 6 diapers
🔸Adult backpacks
🔸Bedding like blankets, comforters, and sheet sets
🔸Pots, pans, dishes, and silverware

FOOD PANTRY NEEDS:

🔹Toilet paper
🔹In-date baby formula
🔹Ketchup, mayo, and mustard
🔹Shaving cream and razors
🔹Laundry detergent
🔹Women's deodorant

Please drop off donations at our back porch Monday - Friday 9AM - 2:30PM. We can provide a donation receipt if you’d like one!

SVCM’s Crisis Ministry will be open for regular hours this week, Monday - Friday, 9AM - 3PM. Please call or arrive by 2:30PM, so we can hopefully help you the same day.

Huge sunflower bouquets have been brightening the lobby of our Crisis Ministry this week! Our volunteer Bill brought them over from the Ecumenical Garden here in Black Mountain. This garden is a partnership between volunteers at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church and First Baptist Church Black Mountain, both SVCM member churches. They’re a lovely reminder of the good that can bloom when we work together.🌻
