Heat Safety Tips ☀️🌡️
As temperatures rise, taking precautions can prevent heat-related illnesses and save lives.
* Stay hydrated — Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol.
* Limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
* Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and a wide-brimmed hat when outdoors.
* Take frequent breaks in air-conditioned or shaded areas if working outside.
* Never leave children, elderly adults, or pets in a vehicle, even for a few minutes. Temperatures inside a car can become deadly very quickly.
* Check on neighbors, family members, and those with medical conditions who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.
* Know the signs of heat-related illness:
* Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, headache.
* Heat Stroke: Hot skin, confusion, altered mental status, loss of consciousness. Heat stroke is a medical emergency—call 911 immediately.
Remember: Hydrate early, seek shade often, and know your limits. A few simple precautions can make all the difference during hot weather.
Your safety is our priority—stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe. 🚒💧☀️
