Good afternoon, Black Mountain!

We wanted to let you know where you can take unused prescription medications for proper disposal.

As you know, we are no longer able to stay at our former police headquarters. This means our pill drop has been shut down for now. We will let you know when we find a solution and get it back up and running.

Locations where you can drop *PRESCRIPTION medications off can be found on the DEA website at:

*As a reminder, these drop boxes are not meant for over-the-counter medicines or supplements. Those items can be safely disposed of in the trash. Also - due to safety concerns, no hypodermic needles or IV bags can be accepted.

Lt. Staton has transitioned into the Administrative Lieutenant role and has been doing an amazing job helping recruit and fill positions within the department. He has also been coordinating Safety Saturday and planning the Walk/Bike to School event for our children and families.

Black Mountain!! Don't forget - tomorrow, March 16, is Safety Saturday at the Black Mountain Ingles. Bring the kids and meet and greet with fire, EMS, and police staff. Activities and handouts for the kids.
