Earlier today following a storm passing through a tree fell involving power lines in the 1100 Blk of Morgan Hill Rd. Personnel stood by awaiting Duke then opened one lane. Tree crew arrived later opening second lane. Please never ever try driving under or over downed lines. Just because power is out nearby doesn’t mean the downed line is not energized.

There has been a slide recently in the 300 Blk of Shumont Rd which was recently repaired from Helen and not yet completed. It is the section between the upper two red lights and runs parallel to H&H Trail. Emergency Management and DOT are aware. Appeared several steps on the bank failed and some trees fell blocking the waterway along H&H. DOT was going to try and remove debris allowing water to flow and prevent damages to H&H Trail. We recommend motorists to stay away from the shoulder there or any location not fully completed. These are some photos and aerial photos of the area. Several residents reported receiving 5.5-6” of precipitation over the last 3 days.

Power lines down blocking roadway. This is near bridge to NC9. Rush Creek accessible from Garren Creek side. Please find alternate route. Duke is aware and no ETA. Possible reopen by 3PM. Use alternate route.
