Congratulations to Lyndall Noyes-Brownell!

The Friends of the Black Mountain Public Library are proud to celebrate Lyndall Noyes-Brownell, recipient of the 2026 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award. This award honors the true spirit of volunteerism by recognizing individuals and groups who make a significant contribution to their community through service.

Since 2018, Lyndall has generously shared her time and talents with the Friends, helping revive the Seed Library as a place of environmental learning, stewardship, and community connection. After Tropical Storm Helene, she coordinated the distribution of nearly 500 free seed-starting packs, helping local gardeners replant, recover, and reconnect with the land.

Lyndall will be presented with the award by the Buncombe County Commissioners at their June 16th board meeting.

Lyndall’s work is rooted in care, resilience, and community in action. This honor is deeply deserved.
