Compete in our summer swim team, with 2 outdoor meets:
Mondays and Wednesdays, July 6th - August 5th
Practice 5:30-7:00 pm
2 CARA meets
Swim team for swim level 3 and up, ages 7-18
Fees:
Resident $100
Non-resident $120

We will be running a lifeguard certification class June 20th and 21st, 9am -6pm at the Gilpin County Community Center.

What you'll learn:
First Aid
CPR and AED
Lifeguarding

General details for the class include:
American Red Cross Certification.
Age: 15+ (for class) 16+ (for employment).
Must be able to swim 250m non-stop, tread water for 2 minutes, and retrieve a brick from the bottom of the pool.
This 3 Day Blended Training Includes CPR, AED, First Aid and Lifeguarding.
Online and in-person class. Must complete online portion prior to in-person class.
Fee for class: $100 Resident /$120 Non- Resident (fee is reimbursed if hired).

Join us for a FREE workshop that explores water – our most valuable resource. We will discuss the current drought status in Colorado, the impact on Gilpin County, and the county’s ongoing response. We will also discuss residential conservation practices to reduce indoor and outdoor water use, as well as rainwater collection laws and practical applications for mountain communities.

Presented by Extension Director Jennifer Cook and Master Gardener volunteers.

The Friends of Gilpin County Community Center's next event is the Annual Gilpin County Community Center cleanup, scheduled for Saturday, May 30th.
Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Community Center and we'll be providing bags, tools, drinks, and snacks to all helpers!
Cleanup includes w**d pulling at the ballfields, removing trash, etc. then removing trash and tiding up the hiking trail, and around the facilities. Bring gloves, sunblock, a hat and a jacket (in case the wind blows).
