📣 Spirit Week is Coming! 🎉

Dear Families,

We are excited to celebrate Spirit Week from June 8th–12th! Students are invited to join the fun by dressing up according to each day’s theme:

☀️ Monday: Crazy Hair Day
🏈 Tuesday: Sports Attire Day
👩‍🏫 Wednesday: Dress Like a Teacher Day
🛌 Thursday: Pajama Day
🎓 Friday: Future Career Day

Participation is completely optional, but we encourage everyone to join in and help make the week fun and memorable! We can’t wait to see our students show their creativity and school spirit.

A huge thank you to Officer Hershaw of the Black Diamond Police Department for leading our D.A.R.E. Program and graduation ceremony today. We are so grateful for their partnership and the positive difference they are making for our students. Thank you also to Mountain View Fire and Rescue, John Adler, Mayor of Black Diamond, and all of the families and community members who came to show their support. D.A.R.E. has been a longstanding tradition at Black Diamond Elementary for many years and one of the many things that make our school community such a special place! Congrats to our 5th grade D.A.R.E. Graduates! 🎓 👮

Reminder: This Friday, May 22, 2026, is a School Makeup Day!

Due to school closures earlier in the school year, Friday will be a Regular Friday Schedule for Southwood Elementary, Sunrise Elementary and Enumclaw Middle School

There will be No School for all other schools: Birth to Five Center, Black Diamond Elementary, Byron Kibler Elementary, Westwood Elementary, Thunder Mountain Middle School and Enumclaw High School

Our courtyard garden got some extra love today thanks to a great group of student volunteers led by Mr. Bathum, our incredible PE teacher. 🌱

The kids had a blast, and it was really special to see them taking ownership and caring for our school. You could feel the pride and joy out there.

Another big thank you to Mr. Bathum for the way he shows up for kids every single day. He goes above and beyond, builds strong relationships, and is such a positive role model for our students.

We are truly lucky to have him at Black Diamond Elementary! 🙌 💛

Our students went ga-ga for Gaga Ball! 🤪

Thank you to our PTO for making it happen, and a big shoutout to Mr. Bathum (Our phenomenal PE teacher) for teaching every class how to play. It was awesome to see students working together and showing great sportsmanship. We are so excited to have another fun activity for our students to participate in during recess!
