Troop 11

Troop 11 Troop 1011 is one of the oldest troops in Bismarck with approx. 20 scouts. We love camping! Troop 11 is chartered by
Bismarck-Mandan Elks Lodge #1199.

We are currently in a pilot program where our girl and boy troops are operating as a combined troop. Troop 11 has participated in long term camping and high adventure including Camp Wilderness , Park Rapids, MN, Bear Tooth, Medicine Mt.,Charles L. Sommers High Adventure Canoe Base, Buffalo Bill Camp. Other events include Scout Expo's, Klondike Derbies, Council and District Camporees. The Troop has an average of 25 nights of camping per year and over the last 26 years with a total of approximately 700 total nights. Our Troop meets every Monday from 6:30-8:00 PM at Dorothy Moses Elementary school and we often meet at other locations. If you are looking for a troop to join feel free to stop in at any of our meetings.

Troop 11 camped this weekend along with Troop 54 and worked on the America 250 award. Scouts visited a museum, did a service project, played various games such as a hoop game, cat's in the cradle, checkers, 9 man mill, etc., and designed a council strip, and other requirements for the award. Along the way they also made new friends and strengthened old friendships. We also welcomed a new scout to our troop who jumped in with her first campout! Scouts learned about alternate ways to cook when you are unable to have a fire (fire ban), and we were able to enjoy some great meals.

Troop 11 held the summer Court of honor on Sunday. Had a great potluck picnic. The awards were plentiful--over 100 ,merit badges, awards, and rank advancements. Congratulations to all! The troop celebrated the union of the Boy and Girl Troops into a family Troop and now have 1 unified scarf, taking the legacy color from the boys and the logo from the girls. Looking sharp scouts.
