Enjoy the river!

Most people in Bis-Man still have no idea how much the Lewis & Clark Riverboat actually does during the week.

Sunset cruises.
Dinner cruises.
Brunch cruises.
Afternoon cruises.
Specialty themed cruises.

And somehow a lot of people still think it’s “just for tourists.”

Meanwhile, you can spend a summer evening on the Missouri River with drinks, food, live atmosphere, and some of the best views around.

This is your sign to finally check it out.

Here’s a look at a typical week aboard the Lewis & Clark Riverboat.

Presidents Day (or President’s Day, depending on the style guide in front of you) message from KRIV-NHS.

Happy President’s Day!

Today we wanted to celebrate America’s only president who was also a park ranger. 🤠

As many of you may know we celebrated our 50th Anniversary a few years ago. We want to give big thanks to one of the people, and presidents who made it possible, President Gerald R. Ford.

If you didn't know, Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site was established on October 26, 1974, when President Gerald R. Ford signed Public Law 93-486.

President Ford took a summer seasonal park ranger job in 1936 at Yellowstone National Park.

President Gerald Ford described his work as a seasonal ranger at Yellowstone National Park as “one of the greatest summers of my life.” Despite his tenure as a national park ranger, Ford never used his authority under the Antiquities Act to designate new national monuments — although Congress added 18 sites to the National Park System under his administration, including Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Valley Forge National Historical Park, and us, among others.

So, thank you President Ford for your time in the National Park Service and for signing us into law while serving as President of the United States!
