Goals and Purposes
The goals and purposes of the Great Planers Trout and Salmon Club shall be liberally and broadly construed so as to promote sport fishing upon Lake Sakakawea, the Missouri River, Lake Oahe, and other waters in North Dakota. More specifically, the Club’s purpose is to promote trout and salmon fishing based upon the following principles:
1. To encourage the exchange of fishing inf

ormation between Club members;
2. To provide educational opportunities in trout and salmon fishing techniques to Club members and non-members;
3. To help instruct the public and assist agencies to fight pollution of the State’s waters;
4. To encourage the respect of the right of others while engaged in fishing and other marine activities;
5. To provide all practicable assistance to government agencies responsible for fish management programs in North Dakota; and
6. To operate as a non-profit, public service organization.

Here are the details for the upcoming outing on Sunday, August 31st.

4:00 pm weigh in begins
5:30 pm salmon boil will be served.

We will also weigh fish Saturday at 6 to 7 pm at Tailrace fish cleaning station.

•The event will be held at the Main Shelter of Lake Sakakawea State Park in Pick City, ND
•Prizes will be awarded to the 3 largest individual fish
•Pop and water will be provided
•Side dishes and desserts are welcomed

4:00 pm weigh in begins
5:30 pm salmon boil will be served

* REMINDER🚨

Here are the details for this weekend’s outing!

•Saturday September 2nd: weigh your biggest fish between 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at 117 2nd street in Riverdale.

•Sunday September 3rd: weigh your biggest fish between 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the main Shelter of Lake Sakakawea State Park in Pick City.
•Salmon boil is served at 7:00 pm following Sunday’s weigh-in. Potatoes, vegetables and sweet corn will also be served. Side salads and desserts are BYO (potluck style). Water and pop will be provided.
•Door prizes will be given away following the boil.
•1st, 2nd and 3rd place for biggest fish (between the two days) will be awarded gift cards.
•Must be a member to participate in the outing. If you aren’t a member, you are welcome to join.
•If you have salmon to donate for the boil, please contact Cody Backman (701-527-8024) or Jayden Haider (701-425-7285). We need around 30 pounds of fillets.
•We hope to see you there. Until then, happy fishing! 🎣

We regret to inform you that due to forecasted high winds, our derby for tomorrow has been cancelled. We will meet tomorrow at the main shelter at 1:00 pm to draw for places. We still have some great door prizes to give away!

This Saturday is our 37th Annual Derby.
Derby hours are from 7:00 am-4:00 pm.
Rules meeting is Friday night at 7:00 pm, main park shelter at Lake Sakakawea State Park. Registration is open until the rules meeting begins, and we have room! Not a member? No problem. New members are welcome and it is simple to join. You are not going to want to miss our door prizes this year!! Please message us with any questions you may have.
