This week's water tower is in the City of Cavalier. Founded in 1875 and incorporated in 1902, Cavalier was named after early Pembina County settler Charles Cavileer. It became the county seat in 1911.

This week's water tower is in the City of Surrey. Surrey is located just 7 miles east of Minot off of Highway 2 in Ward County. It was founded on June 18, 1900 (although not officially incorporated until 1951), and named after Surrey, England by officials of the Great Northern Railway. The name derives from its definition meaning a light four-wheeled horse-drawn carriage; has two or four seats, with wheels drawn by one or more horses.

Starting tomorrow, ND Rural Water will be assisting Fessenden Public Works with locating water and sewer connections throughout town. Residents may see them in yards locating curb stops and other connections. This work will help us create a more accurate, updated map of our system and make future repairs and services more efficient.
