PDMSTA had the honor of hosting representatives from the South Carolina Children’s Fund for a meaningful day of collaboration, reflection, and growth.

PDMSTA was founded by visionary Mae F. Bailey upon the belief that students in the rural communities of Lee County deserve an educational option that provides a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment—one that inspires them to grow, lead, and thrive despite their ZIP code.

The mission of the South Carolina Children’s Fund strongly reflects that vision. Throughout the visit, their thoughtful questions, candid feedback, and recognition of both our strengths and opportunities for improvement demonstrated a genuine commitment to helping charter schools move forward.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Chris Eide Azevedo, Chief of Staff Thibaut Delloue, and Ernesto Cantu, former Chief Schools Officer at IDEA Public Schools, for spending the day with us. We also thank the PDMSTA team, Dr. John Brown, J.B. Consulting, our board members, staff, families, and everyone who helped make the visit successful.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations and exploring how we can work together to create even greater opportunities for the children and families we serve.

K–2 Flex Camp put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test! 🏗️🌉 With Mr. Dawson and Ms. Steadman, students were challenged to use only the materials placed in front of them to design and build their very own bridges.

This hands-on STEM activity encouraged students to think creatively, work through challenges, experiment with different ideas, and use their imaginations to bring their designs to life. We loved seeing all of the unique creations our young builders came up with! 💡👏🏽

What a great week at PDMSTA! 💙⚔️

Our campus was filled with positive energy, meaningful learning, teamwork, and growing relationships. From our classrooms to our hallways, we saw students engaged, teachers committed, and staff members working together to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive school climate.

A strong school culture is built one interaction, one lesson, and one act of kindness at a time. Thank you to our students, families, faculty, and staff for helping us complete another successful week!

Class of 2027 student Morgan Benjamin earned Beta Club service hours today by assisting our Nutrition Department! Morgan demonstrated leadership, responsibility, and a willingness to serve wherever needed.
