BISHOPVILLE PRIMARY SCHOOL WEEKLY NEWS 2/27/17

Bishopville Primary School is using a well-known teaching strategy in English and Language Arts classes called, Guided Reading. Guided reading is a strategy in which the teacher mentors a child or a small group through the reading of a selection, drawing them into an exploration of the context, the content, and the words. The goal of Guided Reading is for students to develop skills to help them read independently, silently, and fluently. Teachers are working closely with both the Reading Coach and Instructional Coach to create unique strategies to help students progress to the next level. Students are exposed to a variety of reading sources to include level texts, online sources, and computer software programs.

Bishopville Primary School held their Awards Program for the second nine weeks on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
