🎉 June LIFE Night is here! Join us tonight from 5:00–6:30 PM in Bishop for an evening of connection, learning, family fun, and community resources. Dinner will be provided at 6:30 PM! 🍽️💜
In recognition of National Prevention Month, this month’s activities will focus on keeping families safe, healthy, and connected. Families attending our “Preventing Common Childhood Injuries” session will build and take home their own FREE First Aid Kit together! 🩹⛑️
We will also have a limited number of FREE air purifiers available for families while supplies last.
✨ Activities include:
• Children’s Playgroup + FREE books
• Tech Safety Showdown Kahoot!
• Preventing Common Childhood Injuries
• Senior Tech Support

Thank you to all the families who joined First 5 Inyo County and the Home Visiting Program at our Kids Book Fair. From picking out new books to discovering fun literacy activities, it was wonderful to see so many children excited about reading.
As school wraps up and summer begins, we're thrilled to help local families build their home libraries and keep the joy of reading going all season long. Here's to a summer full of stories, imagination, and adventure! ☀️📚

Gracias a todas las familias que acompañaron a First 5 Inyo County y al Programa de Visitas al Hogar en nuestra Feria del Libro Infantil. Desde elegir nuevos libros hasta descubrir actividades divertidas de lectura, fue maravilloso ver a tantos niños entusiasmados por leer.

What a memorable year in Sidekicks! 💙 Throughout the 2025–26 school year, our students learned, grew, explored new activities, built friendships, and created lasting memories. We wrapped up the year by coming together for a fun celebration filled with laughter, games, treats, and reflection on all we accomplished. Here's to an amazing year and the memories we'll carry with us forever! See you next year! ✨

¡Qué año tan especial en Sidekicks! 💙 Durante el ciclo escolar 2025–26, nuestros estudiantes aprendieron, crecieron, exploraron nuevas actividades, fortalecieron amistades y crearon recuerdos inolvidables. We're getting ready for the Annual Inyo County Community Baby Shower and need your help!
We're currently accepting donations of new and gently used baby items to share with local families at this year's event. 💚

❤️ National CPR & AED Awareness Week ❤️
June 1–7, 2026
Knowing CPR and how to use an AED can help save a life during a cardiac emergency. This week is a reminder that anyone can make a difference!

🚑 Call 911 immediately in an emergency
❤️ Start CPR if a person is unresponsive and not breathing normally
⚡ Use an AED as soon as one is available—turn it on, follow the voice prompts, and place the pads as directed
📚 Consider taking a CPR/AED training course to build your confidence and skills

The actions you take in the first few minutes of an emergency can make all the difference.

Saber cómo realizar RCP y cómo usar un Desfibrilador Externo Automático (DEA) puede ayudar a salvar una vida durante una emergencia cardíaca. ¡Esta semana nos recuerda que cualquier persona puede marcar la diferencia!

🚑 Llame al 911 de inmediato en caso de emergencia
❤️ Comience la RCP si una persona no responde y no respira con normalidad
⚡ Use un DEA tan pronto como esté disponible: enciéndalo, siga las instrucciones de voz y coloque los parches según se indique
📚 Considere tomar un curso de capacitación en RCP y DEA para desarrollar su confianza y habilidades

Las acciones que tome durante los primeros minutos de una emergencia pueden marcar la diferencia.

Healing from mental health and substance use issues is not just the absence of symptoms. It is a stable home, meaningful connection, and the tools to move forward. That is the promise of whole-person care.

• Feeling heard and respected can be deeply supportive. Listening with compassion makes a difference.
• When someone you love is living with a serious mental illness, steady presence and compassion matter most.
• Maintaining healthy, clear boundaries protects both you and your loved one.
• Caring for yourself matters. Seeking support when you need it helps you show up with steadiness and compassion.

This Saturday, May 30th, Inyo County First 5 and Home Visiting Team are hosting a Kids Book Fair from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Inyo County families and children ages 0-12 are encouraged to stop by the County office in Bishop at 1360 N. Main Street to get some FREE books and reading tools!

Grab some good books to boost that summer reading! 📚
