Collat Jewish Family Services’ comprehensive range of services is designed to help clients live independently and safely, often in their own homes, for as long as possible. CJFS CARES (Caring for Adults through Respite, Enrichment and Socialization) understands the unique challenges faced by those living with movement and memory disorders such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, or stroke. Our program is more than just a service; it’s a lifeline for participants and their caregivers. Designed to engage the mind, body, and spirit, CJFS CARES offers a sanctuary of support, enrichment, and socialization.

This might be the hardest part.

You see changes.
They don’t.
Or they do… and they don’t want to admit it.

No one wants to feel like they’re losing independence. And pushing too hard can backfire.

These conversations are delicate. Emotional. Sometimes frustrating on both sides.

It helps to have someone in the middle — someone who isn’t the “parent” or the “child,” but can guide the conversation in a way that keeps dignity intact.
