Concerned voters in Jefferson County are calling for transparency and a full review of issues reported during the Tuesday, May 19, 2026 election in Alabama House District 57 (HD57).

Many voters, poll watchers, and community members have raised concerns regarding election procedures, voter access, and confidence in the integrity of the process. Citizens are requesting that county and state election officials fully investigate these concerns and publicly provide answers.

Voters are also asking questions about the reported turnout numbers in HD57 compared to prior elections. According to publicly reported totals being discussed by community members, approximately 3,905 more voters participated in the 2026 primary election in HD57 compared to the 2022 election, and candidate Sellers reportedly received 3,091 of those additional votes. Community members are requesting a full public explanation of these numbers and verification that all votes were properly cast, counted, and reported according to Alabama law.

We respectfully request that Probate Judge Yashiba Blanchard and election officials investigate:

1. Whether all procedures involving curbside voting or assisted voting were conducted in compliance with Alabama election law and county procedures.
2. Whether any prohibited electioneering or improper campaign activity occurred inside or near polling locations.
3. Whether any unauthorized handling of ballots occurred.
4. Whether poll workers and election officials maintained required neutrality and complied with all applicable election procedures.

We also respectfully request:

1. A formal investigation into all HD57 polling locations and reported incidents.
2. Copies of all incident reports, chain-of-custody logs, machine audit logs, and poll worker reports related to these precincts.
3. Copies of precinct result tapes and supplemental reports.
4. Identification of election officials and poll workers involved in the handling of voting equipment and ballots.
5. Confirmation that all Alabama election procedures and county protocols were followed.

Voters deserve transparency, accountability, and confidence that every lawful vote was counted fairly and accurately.

If you would like to respectfully contact election officials and request answers, the numbers listed below are public offices connected to election administration:

For months, I carried the responsibility of running a campaign, building a movement, and fighting to bring attention to the real issues impacting District 57. And despite yesterday’s outcome, I woke up feeling peace, clarity, and gratitude.

To every person who supported this campaign, prayed for me, encouraged me, volunteered, donated, made calls, knocked doors, shared posts, and cast a vote in my name, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To the people who believed in me and trusted me with your vote and your voice, thank you for taking this journey with me.

As a first-time candidate running a true grassroots campaign, I can honestly say I had fun. I learned so much throughout this process. I met amazing people, built meaningful relationships, and gained firsthand experience in the realities, challenges, and yes, the trickery that can exist in politics. But with every experience came lessons, and believe me, I was learning, observing, and taking notes every step of the way.

While we did not win this election, I do not consider this journey a loss. We elevated conversations that matter, protecting voting rights, affordable healthcare and Medicaid expansion, support for small businesses, job creation, fair wages, affordable housing, safer neighborhoods, and fully funded schools so every child has a fair chance to succeed.

But now, the responsibility shifts back to the people of District 57.

Do not settle for empty promises, appearances, or politics built on friendships and familiarity. Your livelihood is not about friendship, it is about reality. It is about whether families can afford groceries, whether seniors can afford medication, whether children receive quality education, whether neighborhoods are safe, and whether working people can survive and thrive.

Expect more.
Demand more.
Hold elected officials accountable.
And never stop pushing for the progress this community deserves.

Congratulations to Patrick Sellers on his victory, and I wish him success as he serves District 57.

This is not the end of my story, it is only part of the journey.

May God bless each of you and our community.

Today, concerns were raised at a District 57 polling location regarding ballots being taken outside to vehicles for individuals to vote from their cars. The matter has been verified and reported through the proper channels for review.

Every voter deserves a fair, transparent, and lawful election process. Election integrity matters, regardless of candidate or party.

I remain focused on ensuring every legal vote is counted and every voter is treated fairly.

Thank you to everyone who participated in today’s election process.
