TODAY!
Artist's Talk with Bethany Moody
Saturday, May 30, 2:00 PM
Birmingham Public Library, 2100 Park Place

Please join us at the Central Library on Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m. for an artist’s talk with Bethany Moody. Moody will discuss the guiding concepts and processes behind her exhibition "Play Things,” now on view in the Sculpture Gallery.

Please register for this free event on Eventbrite - bethanymoodytalk.eventbrite.com. The animated yet abstract drawings and soft sculptures in “Play Things” combine toy history, systems-driven design, material culture, and labor rights. Moody will trace the artistic practice behind this body of work and offer an in-depth look at sustainable material sourcing, slow hand-finishing, and other processes.

Learn more about Moody and her work on her website cargocollective.com/annmoody. This activity is made possible in part by a grant from the Alabama State Coun[cil on the Arts.

Serving 150 students daily during the school year, Beyond the Bell provides homework help, mentorship, enrichment activities, and social-emotional support for local elementary and middle school students at the downtown Birmingham Public Library.

Now, we need your help to keep this important program growing.
Your support helps us provide a safe, structured environment for students while supporting working families across our community. Every dollar invested helps create brighter futures for Birmingham kids.
