Celebrating the women who lead and lift as they climb! 👑 Day 4 of Small Business Week 2026 brought us to the BJCC for an unforgettable "Leading, Lifting, & Legacy" reception.

Birmingham is full of brilliant legacy-builders, and this event was a powerful reminder that there is immense power in unity. When we step out of isolation and embrace collaboration, our entire ecosystem rises.

Key Takeaways from Day 4:

→ Redefining Balance: There is no such thing as perfect balance; success is about fiercely prioritizing your time and energy.
→ Power in Unity: Collaboration and a unified network are far more effective than competing alone.
→ Leveraging Resources: Entrepreneurs must step out, ask questions, and actively utilize the support systems provided by the city.

Thank you to everyone who shared their stories, networked, and reminded us what it means to build a legacy in the Magic City! 🏙️🤝

Spreading love around the Magic City! 🩵

Led by Founder and Executive Director Ashley Griffice, Be Kind Birmingham operates as a mobile pop-up free store. They deliver essential items like clothing, toiletries, and cleaning supplies directly to communities across eight local libraries in the Birmingham area.

As a second-year BOLD grant recipient, they are using this year’s funding to expand their reach and launch a crucial new initiative: the Be Kind for Bubba Mental Health Program. This program will provide vital treatments to patients without health insurance, meeting them exactly where they are.

At IEO and OBDO, we know that a thriving economy starts with supported, healthy residents. The BOLD Program provides public funding opportunities to support organizations that are actively solving problems and sparking neighborhood investment. We are thrilled to partner with organizations like Be Kind Birmingham to help them scale their operations and deepen their community impact.
