Saturday, April 11th - the Friends Bookstore will be open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. with a special DVD sale! We received a large DVD donation with many of the items still in the shrink wrap. We will have these items available tomorrow in the store for $1 each. No bags sales will be available for these DVD's. Come see us in the store for this sale and for all the other wonderful items we have in the store. We can't wait to see you!

The Birmingham Public Library is closed Friday and Saturday, April 3rd & 4th, in observance of Easter. The Friends Bookstore is closed as well. Look for some exciting news about next Saturday, April 11th - the Friends Bookstore will be open!

It's the first Saturday of the month and that means the Friends Bookstore is open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. - tomorrow March 7th! We have a special surprise waiting for those Saturday shoppers. You will have to come by and see what's hiding under the covers in the Bookstore! Looking forward to seeing you in the store!

The Friends Bookstore will be open this Saturday, February 7th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for your shopping pleasure. The weather is warming up so get out of the house and come see us in the store!

Happy Holidays! The Friends Bookstore is open tomorrow, Saturday, December 6th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for your holiday shopping. The Bookstore will be closed, Thursday, December 11th. The Birmingham Public Library system is closed on the 11th. The Bookstore will also be closed December 22-26 for Christmas and December 31 - January 1 for New Year's. We wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday season!

We are thrilled to announce the sequel to our first Treasures from the Stacks book sale. Forget your average used book sale; this is an opportunity to discover truly exceptional pieces, from unique literary artifacts to exquisite leather-bound editions and breathtaking art volumes. Mark your calendars for Tuesday evening, August 19th from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Birmingham Public Library Central location just outside the Friends Bookstore doors.
