Congratulations to Alisha McGinnis, RN, who serves as our Health Services Administrator (HSA) at the Putnam County Jail, recently earned her Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) through the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC).

⭐️ FEEL GOOD FRIDAY ⭐️

Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is proud to recognize one of our own for an outstanding professional accomplishment.

Alisha McGinnis, RN, who serves as our Health Services Administrator (HSA) at the Putnam County Jail, recently earned her Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) through the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC).

Sheriff Farris said, “Alisha plays a critical role in the daily operations of our jail, ensuring that those in our custody receive proper medical care. Her dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence are a direct reflection of the high standards we strive for at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

This nationally recognized certification is highly regarded as a symbol of accomplishment. According to the NCCHC, the CCHP, “promotes correctional health care professionals’ knowledge, understanding, and application standards and guidelines essential to the delivery of appropriate health care in the correctional environment; their role in delivering that care; the basic legal principles underlying their practice; and their ethical obligations.”

“I started working as a Nurse in Corrections in 2019, when we lived in Hawaii. It was then I realized how much I enjoyed this type of work that is both challenging and rewarding. Correctional Nursing allows me to use my almost 28 years of experience to make a difference in the lives of people who don’t always take the best care of themselves but are just as deserving of medical care as those in the community. When I became the Health Services Administrator for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, I didn’t know what I was taking on but soon realized what an amazing group of Nurses and Deputies I would get to work with each day. They all strive duality to give the best care possible. Wanting to be a better leader for them, pushed me to earn my certification as a Certified Correctional Health Professional.” -Alisha McGinnis, RN, CCHP, HSA

Please lift one of our own in prayer! 🙏

Rachel Davis, a 34-year-old mother of two and a nurse with Quality Correctional Healthcare at St. Clair County Jail in Alabama, was involved in a serious car accident and is currently in critical condition and in a coma.

Our hearts are with Rachel and her family during this incredibly difficult time. A GoFundMe has been created to help with her medical expenses and future care.

If you’re able, please consider donating. If not, please share and keep Rachel and her family in your prayers.
