Birmingham Police Department is searching for candidates with a heart for people.

There are several people that won’t entertain the opportunity due to societal perception of law enforcement. However, many of the men and women that currently serve are your high school classmates, family members, and friends. They accepted the call to be the change and safe guard their communities.
Birmingham PD has the training needed to help you prepare to serve. If you are tired of seeing these things transpire in your community, come make a difference. Social media policing is not enough, we have many opportunities that will pay great dividends.
Also, we want our community to understand and realize the earning potential serving as an officer.
1. $5,000 sign on bonus
2. Officers earn between $50,190.40 and $85,820.80
3. This doesn’t include moonlighting opportunities and overtime. (There are 1 and 2 year officers making six figure salaries.
4. Officers are eligible to apply for promotion to Sgt. within 2-3 years of service.
5. Sergeants earn up to $ 104, 332.80
