Ain't no party like a Beautification Block Party because a Beautification Block Party don't stop! We're out with HouseProud today putting in work on facade improvements, landscaping and repairs for six homes along Carraway Blvd in District 4. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to give a little face lift to historic homes that some of these residents have lived in for over 50 years!

Councilor Crystal N. Smitherman met with the Alabama School Library Association this morning to discuss local initiatives and opportunities to inspire more young people to develop a love of reading. We are incredibly grateful for our librarians and the vital role they play in our communities. They provide welcoming spaces where young people can explore new ideas and discover who they are— that work makes a lasting difference.

What are some books you're looking forward to reading this summer?
