We traveled all the way to sunny Panama City Beach, FL on the eve of the AAHRA-Alabama Association of Housing & Redevelopment Authorities Annual Conference, to congratulate Ms Jaquaria Akridge, a North Birmingham resident, who received a scholarship from the Alabama Housing Authorities Educational Enrichment Fund at the annual Scholarship Luncheon today! We are so proud of her accomplishments! She will be attending Troy University in the Fall pursuing a degree in Education and a degree in Political Science. She gave a powerful speech and mentioned, "I'm doing this for the next generation. You can be whatever you want if you apply yourself." She also received a scholarship from the Naomi H . Truman Foundation as well. Congratualtions to all of the scholars on your successes and we support you in all your future endeavors!

We are so proud of our residents who have successfully transitioned from the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program to homeownership. Seeing them take these steps for their families and their futures is truly rewarding.
