**Firefighter Passenger & Heavy Vehicle Extrication Technician Course**
This intensive, hands-on extrication program is designed to prepare firefighters and rescue personnel to confidently manage passenger vehicle and heavy vehicle rescue incidents. Class size is intentionally limited to maximize tool time and ensure every student gains extensive practical experience.
Over five days, students will perform extrication operations on more than 100 vehicles, developing the skills and confidence needed to create life-saving access and disentanglement pathways in complex rescue scenarios.
Students will learn and apply:
* Vehicle stabilization techniques for passenger and heavy vehicles
* Vehicle lifting operations
* Griphoist operations and mechanical advantage systems
* Winch-based rescue and recovery techniques
* High-pressure air bag lifting systems
* Scene assessment and hazard mitigation
* Contingency planning and problem-solving under challenging conditions
* Advanced extrication strategies for a variety of vehicle types and rescue situations
Through realistic scenarios and repetitive hands-on training, students will build the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to safely and effectively work through virtually any vehicle extrication scene they may encounter throughout their career.
