During Click It or Ticket May 20 – June 2, our law enforcement officers will be keeping a sharp eye out for unbuckled motorists. The goal is public safety by encouraging voluntary compliance with traffic laws. Please, buckle up, watch your speed, be alert and arrive alive!

During Click It or Ticket May 20 – June 2, our law enforcement officers will patrol in greater numbers for longer hours – not to write tickets, but to ensure motorists are safely complying with traffic laws. In Wisconsin, motorists can be stopped and cited for failure to wear a safety belt, and drivers can be cited for every unbuckled passenger in their vehicle. Be safe and be smart. Buckle up every seat, every trip.

Now through Memorial Day weekend, police officers across WI are stepping up seat belt enforcement. If you’re among the 89 percent of WI motorists who regularly buckle up – keep up the great work. If you don’t buckle up – what’s holding you back? Think about this: the 10 percent of motorists who fail to buckle up account for nearly half the drivers and passengers killed in WI traffic crashes each year

The Birchwood Police Department is asking for the public's help in keeping Wisconsin's roadways safe this holiday season.

The Birchwood Police Department is doing its part by participating the in the "Driver Sober Or Get Pulled Over " holiday campaign from December 14th - January 1st.

In the U.S., about one-third of all traffic crash deaths involve drunk drivers. Last year in Wisconsin, 169 people were killed and 3,303 injured in alcohol-related crashes. Also in 2017: more than 28% of Wisconsin traffic fatalities were alcohol-related; and there were 24,211 OWI convictions. Please do your part to keep out roadways and your loved ones safe this holiday season, don't drink and drive.
