🚒 Hillcrest Fire Company – Tuesday Member Spotlight 🚒
Right here in Hillcrest, we take pride in showing up for our neighbors, backing each other up, and answering the call—day or night.
Every Tuesday, we highlight one of the members who makes this department more than just a fire company—it’s a family.
Because around here, Hillcrest runs deep.

🔥 Why did you join the fire company?
I joined the fire department because this community helped shape who I am. I grew up here, and now my son is growing up here too. Serving as a firefighter is my way of giving back to the people and the place that have given so much to my family. I want to be someone others can rely on during their worst moments, and I want my son to see the value of service, commitment, and community firsthand.
🤝 What’s your favorite part about being a firefighter?
The best part about being a firefighter is knowing that what you do truly matters. Whether it’s helping someone on their worst day, protecting your community, or being there when people need help most, there is real purpose behind the job. There is also a strong sense of brotherhood and trust that comes with it. You train together, work together, and depend on each other when it counts. That bond is hard to find anywhere else.
🎓 What training or certifications are you most proud of?
IFO (Interior Firefighter Operations). This training means being prepared to go inside when conditions are at their worst—fire, smoke, heat, and zero visibility. It requires discipline, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. When the call comes in, it’s time to put that training to work and help those who need it most.
🎣 Hobbies / Interests (What do you do when you’re not running calls?)
When I’m off duty, you’ll usually find me out on Jeep adventures, exploring trails, hiking, or running RC rigs with my son. I enjoy spending time outdoors, making memories with family, and finding the next place to explore.
💬 Message to the Community:
We are always here for the residents of Hillcrest—any hour of the day, any day of the year, whenever help is needed. The support we receive from the community means a great deal to every member of the department, and we never take that trust for granted. I would also encourage anyone interested in serving their community to consider joining Hillcrest Fire Company. Volunteer departments everywhere need dedicated people willing to step up and help others. Most importantly, thank you to the residents of Hillcrest for your continued support. It truly makes a difference.
