🔥 CADDO NATION FIRE UPDATE 🔥

We want to keep our community informed on the wildfire activity affecting Caddo County.

**Update as of 9/13/26:**
The Caddo Nation Firefighter Unit responded to a fire that started approximately 2 miles east of the Caddo Nation Complex and moved north. A significant amount of area has burned. A brush truck with 2 personnel was on scene. At this time, no comment can be made on the extent of damages, we will share updates as soon as that information becomes available.

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Per the Town of Binger's page: residents are asked to refrain from watering lawns and using unnecessary water while response efforts are ongoing. Please help conserve water so our firefighters have what they need.

**Previous update (as of 9/11/26):**
As far as we've been able to determine, our Caddo members have not been negatively affected by the recent fires. Some fires came close to homes but no structures were damaged, mainly connected lands were impacted. Caddo Nation fire teams responded using our brush trucks and our newly acquired 4,000-gallon water tender. Because our members were not negatively affected, no additional assistance or resources have been set aside at this time.

We will continue to update this post as more information comes in. Please stay safe, stay alert, and reach out if you need assistance.

**If anyone is interested in being a Caddo Volunteer Grassland Firefighter or training, please reach contact Scott Anderson at [email protected]**

We hope everyone is staying safe and practicing fire danger protocols, and we ask that everyone please avoid any activities that could create new fires. Please also take a moment to check on your elders and neighbors during this time.

🙏 Thank you to our Caddo Nation firefighters for their continued hard work and dedication to protecting our community.

Our Caddo Housing team is out this week to attend training, but our office is still open to pick up/drop off applications. Tenants can still call the maintenance hotline for any issues that pop up. We'll see you all next week!
