Today, the Billings, Missouri Police Department pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a holiday, it is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy every day. Their legacy lives on through the communities they protected and the lives they touched.

As we gather with family and friends, let us never forget the true meaning of this day and the heroes who are no longer with us.

From all of us at the Billings Police Department, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen service members and their families.

For the second year in a row, we will be offering mosquito dunks to our citizens, in an attempt to help control the mosquito population. You are welcome to stop by the Billings City Hall and p/u some "dunks". With the forecast of potential heavy rains, leading to standing water, we will see the mosquitos coming out in full force.

JOB OPENING:

Good afternoon, everyone! The City of Billings has a job opening for a Seasonal mower/general labor position. Will be responsible for all City mowing including right-of-way, City Park, Wastewater Plant, Wells, etc. This includes push mowing and w**d eating. Must have experience with zero turn mowers. This position will also include general maintenance/labor help for other departments as needed. Will also be responsible for mower maintenance. Must have a clean driving record and must complete a pre-employment drug screening. Apply in person at City Hall. Applications accepted until position is filled.

During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we want to recognize and thank Christian County Emergency Services for the work they do every day.

We understand this job isn’t easy, and it takes a special kind of person to handle the pressure, responsibility, and critical decisions that come with it. Not many could do what you do...but we’re grateful for the ones who do.
