Whoa, it got windy overnight in the Huntley area! Please check your station and stand it back up if needed. The station may also need to be topped up with water. You can do this without removing the lid, just pour water directly over the station until it comes out the bottom.

While we’ll check the station during our visits, it’s important that you also monitor it during hot and windy conditions to make sure it doesn’t run dry.

The biological fungus in the trap will kill the adult mosquito in a couple of days. The infection takes time because the fungus spores need to pe*****te the mosquito skin and grow into her body. In that timeframe she will contaminate other breeding sites in the proximity of the station, and die afterwards. That is why you will not see (lots of) dead mosquitoes inside the station.
