We often hear that supervised visits can feel awkward and that parents feel judged, watched, or unsure of what they’re “supposed” to do. At The Village, we use the Visit Coaching Model to help change that experience. Our goal is to make visits feel as comfortable, supportive, and natural as possible.

Visit coaches are much like sports coaches. We’re there to cheer you on when you’re doing well, celebrate your wins, and help you strengthen and refine your parenting skills when there’s room to grow. When it comes to parenting, there is rarely one “right” answer. Every parent and child is different, and our role is to help you sort through the challenges, build confidence, and become the best parent you can be.

If you or someone you know needs supervised visitation or visit coaching, reach out to The Village. We’d love to connect!

✨Staff Highlight✨

Stephanie is one of our longest standing staff members here at The Village, totaling 5 years with us! She was also The Village’s first official employee and has been an amazing asset to our team.

When asked why she wanted to work at The Village, Stephanie said, “It was a great opportunity and I knew I would love working with Sam and Dannialle. I missed working with kids and their families, so I said yes!” Stephanie continues to work at The Village because of the value she sees in families and kids maintaining and growing their connections. She says, “I think it is extremely important that parents see their kids while in foster care. They need advocates and people who care enough to see them through the ups and downs.”

Stephanie says this work feels successful to her when she gets to watch kids bond with their parents, when they yell excitedly for Mom or Dad as they pull up to The Village, or when they run up and give them big hugs. “It’s not always the big successes, it’s the love shown when they are together. It’s those times I know that this is important.”

Stephanie’s favorite music is hard rock and heavy metal, and she especially likes Shinedown and Metallica. She also says that without her McDonald’s Diet Coke, she wouldn’t make it through her day!

Thank you, Stephanie, for everything you do and for being such an important part of The Village for the past 5 years! We are so grateful to have you on our team!

Visitation doesn’t have to happen in an office. Some of The Village's favorite places to explore include the Billings Public Library, Wise Wonders, local parks, and splash pads.

Whether we’re discovering something new, playing outside, or simply enjoying time together, community visits are a wonderful way to learn, connect, and create positive experiences.

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at The Village! ❤️🤍💙

As many of us spend today with family, friends, and community, we also want to share an important reminder.

Holidays like the Fourth of July can be especially challenging for those in recovery. Cookouts, parties, alcohol, and old habits or traditions can resurface.

To our clients and anyone who may be struggling today, this is your reminder to use your tools, lean on your support system, and reach out if you need help. Asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Please stay safe, take care of one another, and remember that recovery does not take a holiday. We are cheering you on every step of the way. ❤️

Summer is in full swing, and today's challenge is to read a book with your child!

Whether you read in the shade, by the pool, or after nap time, spending time reading together is a simple way to make summer both fun and meaningful.

No matter your child's age, reading throughout the summer helps prevent the "summer slide," which is the learning loss that can happen when children do not regularly practice reading skills.

At The Village, we love helping parents learn about developmental milestones and discover creative, everyday ways to support their child's growth. Reading together is one of the easiest and most valuable activities you can do this summer.

What's your child's favorite book? 📚

Last week, we had the opportunity to welcome Chyrel from the Rimrock team to spend time with our staff. She provided Narcan training and shared more about the services Rimrock offers.

This training left our team feeling more confident, prepared, and empowered to respond in critical moments. Beyond that, it sparked meaningful conversations about how we can continue to show up for the families we serve and support our community in deeper ways.

Chyrel brought incredible energy and knowledge to the room, it was truly inspiring to learn from someone so passionate about this work.

We’re grateful for the partnership and for the opportunity to learn alongside others who are just as committed to making a difference. Partnerships like this are what help build a stronger, healthier Billings.

Parenting doesn't come with a manual, and many of us are raising children while still learning about ourselves. That's one of the reasons The Village LLC uses the Nurturing Parenting Program.

Nurturing Parenting helps parents explore how their own childhood experiences may influence the way they parent today. It provides insight into child development so parents can better understand what behaviors are age-appropriate and what their children need at each stage of growth.

The program also teaches practical, healthy ways to connect with children through communication, empathy, positive discipline, play, and relationship-building. By understanding ourselves and our children more deeply, we can create stronger bonds, healthier family relationships, and a more nurturing home environment.

At The Village LLC, we're proud to use Nurturing Parenting as one of our evidence-based practices to support parents, strengthen families, and help build positive, lasting connections between parents and their children.

Coming to a visit can sometimes feel awkward, overwhelming, or daunting.

The Village provides a variety of games, activities, and opportunities for parents and children to connect, have fun, and build meaningful memories together.

We also encourage parents to bring special items from home, such as favorite games, crafts, books, or activities, to help visits feel more comfortable, personal, and meaningful for both you and your child.
